I went to check on a Great horned Owlet in a nest. last time i visited it seemed as if the owlet was ready to fledge. he was flapping his wings very hard and mow was not there. Last i paid a visit and saw he was still there but in the mean time we found mom sitting in a pine tree tree. Meet Mom and Jr

Due to the one image rule two of the pictures had to be removed. Hopefully we can enjoy the other two images in a repost.

I like that you have included some of her environment. The blurred background is still identifiable, but the out of focus enough that the attention goes directly to the subject and is not distracting.
I can not comment on the sharpness of the image without seeing it full size, though it does look to be in focus.
Some of the shadows under the branch lack detail, but that maybe because I am viewing it as a thumbnail.
