Always thrilled to hear about folks who care. The guy you see on my left is an orphan. his name is Orvil. Hes one of many at the sanctuary. these animals were put on this earth to make it a more beautiful place. Its nice to give them the respect they so deserve.

The second one is my favorite. Nice shots and thank you for the work you do helping to find them homes. I wouldn't be able to do it as I would soon be over run with cats and dogs and end up on the hoarder show.

The second one down is a feral in a friend yard. I did a whole documentation of some ferals..... now that is a sad story. Graphic warning...

Looks like #5 has led the hard life. A real survivor.

We have were at the vet one day with one of our other resued cats when they put this little Maine Coon kitten on my chest and said " Chris, you need another cat !" Her one eye had to be removed and they managed to save the other eye as she was left under a porch some where, and nobody wanted her ...Its been 10 years now and my daughter took her when she moved out. We have 4,my daughter has 3 and my son has 3 rescued cats and they are the most loving cats in the world ! here is a picture of "Uno Oho" (one eye)! Afectionetly known as "Goonie".

Very nice! I have 3 Jack Russel Teriors or as I refer to them terrorists. But if I ever get a cat again, I've always wanted a Maine Coon. Such cool cats!

This is an absolutely wonderful idea. Photos at the shelter made into a cadender or the like, sold and the moneys to the shelter. It's probably done already in alot of cities, but there's always need of help in animal care. This is something I'm going to approach our local shelters with. I would love to do the photos pro bono. I am a cat person, but love animals in general. We are the only creature God created that can cause more harm than good the this fine earth. Let's make a change. With that said I hope you don't mind a couple posts.

Fortunately the first two kittys are in the shelter at the Hemmingway House in Key West. The third is under my care.

Nice love that first one ;).. the effect:) The shelter does a calendar now and you can enter photos and give a ten dollar donation to do so. They do some pages collages and pick month pages I had my chicken and one donkey in it last year and this year the kitten in the basket made it. They sell them for ten dollars later. They are in the midst of opening a store so when people adopt they can purchase basic right there like bowls, blankets, collars, beds and some foods the companies providing the goods have donated them.

Thanks for supporting the LOCAL animal shelter and and not the national organizations. Locals need the money and support and don't really get it from the nationals. Love cats, have too many, but love them all.

Last year we adopted a male tabby named Eli(elijah,or mr. stilts (has long legs)with a pre-existing eye condition which was treated by the vet at the adoption center. Unfortunately, several months later he developed a severe eye lesion and the only alternative was to have his eye enucleated. But we kept mr. stilts and he is part of our family with our other furry ones(cats) sasha and Zoe.Sasha is the black female almost 15 yrs and zoe is the Norwegian forest cat(10 yrs.)
