Not many people let go of these as they are so good at such a low price. I would suggest getting a new one simply for the warranty if nothing else.

Yes I know you are right, I think I will simply order one up. It sure does get high marks and for low price and fairly versatile too. I'd like to use for portraits and then also some of the really nice macro I've seen too!

I have also been considering one of these lens or a Nikon 105 af-d or the new 105 G VR. Does the new Nikon 105 have any advantages?

I took this shot at Longwoods Garden this afternoon with the Tokina 100/2.8. This is straight from the camera with no additional sharpening. Of the three macros I own, this is my favorite. The other two are the Nikon 60 2.8, and the Sigma 180. All three do good job, but the 100 has the best reach/weight combination.
