Here's a challenge: turn the "city crap" into something interesting.

I know what you mean ... but I have found that even with the photos that I think should be deleted for one reason or another .... if I apply some effect or another in post processing ... it becomes something entirely different to look at .... There is beauty in all things .. we just have to find it :)

Did a shoot of Christmas Lights last week. This was the result of an experiment, a panorama of a couple of photographs of a local home stitched together to encompass the whole scene. The homeowners were unknown but we thought they'd like to have it so had a print made. They were delighted and we learned that all the decorations were inherited and refurbished, a labor of love that took over six months. Many were handmade mechanical ones, one of a kind and some fifty years old.

snowbear - well, that's a huge challenge..... but I will try & do my best. :D - I've just never seen electic lines & poles be "sexy" or interesting yet but I will honestly do my best, lol.
& not that I have found this place - I have more of a challege than before, which I really like. Everyone here, for the most part, has been helpful & kind and for a newbie, that makes it very wonderful.

That is an awesome panorama .... I have found that taking 1 extra shot at the beginning and the end leaves the extra room for straightening the horizon before cropping. As hard as I tried I couldn't get the christmas lights to look this good ... Very well done. :)

If you think about where the wires come from and the awesome responsibility they have to be up so high in the sky and work and not kill us all by failing ... and all the technology that goes into producing them and the electricity or whatever that flows thru them ... it's kinda sexy ... to a geek like me :)

Wonderful shot ... I love to see flags that are fully exposed like that.

Try looking at them as if you were seeing them for the first time. Try to think in terms of shape and contrast. Get close to things and look at the details.
