You never know. Thanks for sharing the story. It touched me as well as many others. We take life too much for granted don't we.

Would say more but my monitor is blurring for some reason. Got to have it checked out.

Live every day like it's your last- forgive transgressions, tell your loved ones you do love them, and give to those in need. I'm an ICU nurse, I see it every day. Terminal illness or an accident can happen to anyone, anytime....

Wow. What a powerful message. On another forum I subscribe to, one photographer told of a HS senior session in which the senior had a headache. She died the next day of a stroke. His work is spectacular - images were gorgeous - he gave them to the family.

Another photographer made this observation: "Treat everyone that sits before your camera as though they will die on the way home." I think of that a lot.

Thanks for sharing this.

Sarge...my monitor is blurry too...must be the weather--or I have a cold?!

Mike B...I see it everyday too, I am an echo tech and have been in the room 1 too many times when a family needs to make "the" decision.

CaptainC...another way of thinking but so sad that it is true.

As I am prone to say "The Road Ahead Of Us Is So Much Shorter Than The Road Behind Us!" We seldom ever know what is around the bend that lies ahead of us. This letter found on the doorstep reminds us to never forget the roads we have traveled and lives we have touched or have been touched by.
We can Never take to many pictures, it's difficult to hold a memory in our hands

Reading this letter brings a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes.
"How very fleeting life is!"
I know that your short letter will effect photographers in different ways.
I speak from one professional to another . I feel your loss, as many on this forum do.
Photographers are one of the few individuals who give anything and everything that they have when photographing family protraits. In the final composition and images, therein lies a little of our soul.
Thak you for sharing.

H - sorry; I think there is something in my eye. God love you for sharing - and the sender and her family. Can't be forwarded to enough people.

Shelia - Thanks for sharing. I too have a problem with my screen right now, but must pass this along.... A very close, life long friend is currently battling cancer. First it was breast, now ovarian. Six of us that ran around together as kids (3 guys, 3 gals and our spouses) had a reunion a couple years back. The pictures I have of her are precious to me though they are only snapshots. We talk often, and she is a real trooper. Currently bald, and having bone pain, she is a fighter. Life is not always fair. But with the camera, we have the ability to record history. Take every picture that you can - family, friends, places and things. They may not be here tomorrow, or maybe you will not. I know (personally).

Looks like a fighter. My personal thoughts go out to her in her battle.

When I took portraits I would mention to clients the following: if the house is on fire, everyone is safe, what is the one thing most people want to save? Their photos. They are that precious to us.
