Hi all. I have been reading posts for quite some time and decided it was time to participate. I have seen some wonderful photos here and I hope to share some of mine in the near future. I am not a pro, but I do enjoy my camera and would love to improve.
Welcome to the group. Look forward to some posts from the Southwest!
Welcome aboard. What you wrote as an intro is what I would have saidabout myself. You are in good company.

glad to see you pam, I'm a newbie myself and like you I love to take photos. I want to take photos of everything but so far it has been mainly people. guess I need to get out more. looking forwar to seeing and hearing from you
I am just the opposite. I take photos of animals. I take photos of shelter pets that are up for adoption at Animal Humane in my town. I love it. Some of these sweet pets really like to ham it up, some are so shy, but it is always fun to try and capture thier personalities.
Gee Pam, were looking for a rescue Westie!! Had three of 'em over the years. Not many of 'em here in MONTANA. We now have a WestieXJack!! What a joy he is. Maybe I should say what a "crazy" he is.

Welcome, Pam. Thanks for the shelter work. CBS just aired a piece about a fashion photographer who not only photographed the animals in fashion gear, but enabled the shelter to find homes for all of its animals! She has since set up training programs to teach photographers to be able to do it in their home towns. Unfortunately, I was too late to catch her name - or the town. Might find on CBS.com? Anyway, have a great new year and keep up feeding us "animals" with more pics!

I too do the same thing. I foster them too. Have dozens of pictures of all their antics. Go to the topic "Climbin the Screens,"as these are shelter kittens.
Welcome..post some southwest shots...like a cactus or something...we don't have much in the way of 'hot' loving plants here in Vermont!
