How can I get more macro from my macros?

I dont think this is a particularly interesting photo, but to ask the following question, it is a good example. I am trying to get even closer to my subjecs, but the camera will not allow me to do so. If I crop the photo to just get the center, for example, or one petal, it appears out of focus. How do I achieve a real macro photo?

Camera-
Lens-
ISO-
Shutter Speed-
Aperture-
Handheld or Tripod-

We would need more info to answer your question like Ed said...
But I am also wondering if you are using manual focus or auto?
...And if you are not getting the effect you want from your macro lens (if you are in fact using an actual macro lens), you may want to do some research and buy a different one (sell your old one to recoup the cost) OR you can buy a magnifying filter set and play with those.

magnifying filter example:

These are made in +1, +2, +4, +6 and +10 magnification

Another alternative is a set of extension tubes. These generally come in a set of 3, with differing lengths (they can be ganged together in different combinations, as well) and fit between your camera body and lens. One obvious advantage is that the extension tubes don't add any glass to the optical path.

I think its a very beautiful photograph and cant think of any improvements. If I had authored it I would be very proud.

You just send him in here, and we will straighten his thinking! Every MWAC deserves a true macro lens.
