Typically when you need to resize a picture to meet email requirements you need to change the resolution (number of pixels) Do you have any type of post processing software that you typically use now? Or are you starting with nothing?

There is a very good program that lets you resize an image to any size you wish. It is a free program and works great. Google "Pixresizer" and you will find it.

It depends on the software you are using. In Lightroom, you export photos and in the process can resize them. In Photoshop Elements, you open the photo in the edit mode and then, in the menu, go to Image, then Resize. Other programs have other paths, but many can resize photos.

Some programs such as Faststone Image Viewer will re-size and attach photos to your e-mail client, all you have to do is select the photos and click on e-mail. It is free. Gary www.faststone.org

I agree with marki3rd I use PIXresizer it works very good and PIXresizer has the ability to resize one or hundreds of images in just seconds. Do a Google search it is free. I have been using it for years.

Try Picasa 3. Download it free from google. It's a viewer, editer combo. You just click the photo you want to e-mail, it shows at bottom left and e-mail to the right of that. If you want to send more there's a hold "image", pick another click hold, pick another then click e-mail. Picasa resizes automatically.

If you don't already have one of the Post Processing programs mentioned here, the free PP programs like Picasa will provide the capability you want, but they are relatively large programs, and If you don't want the other capabilities, note that Pixresizer that I mentioned in an earlier post, is a very small program and easier to learn it's use, because it is dedicated to only one operation.

Let me add another vote for PIXResizer, dead simple to use; it does one thing only and does it well. I like the fact it makes the longest side, not only the horizontal or vertical side to the measurement you want.

After resizing my pics I like to put an 'e' on the end of the file name so I know which ones have been resized for 'e'mail, clever, no? 12345.jpg vs 12345e.jpg

Sounds like you're well on your way. Have heard a lot of members on here use Faststone. No experience myself but does come highly recommended.

I just used Faststone and it was easy. I tried pixresizer and I couldn't figure it out. I know it's me, but Faststone was no sweat. Thanks to all.
