I have always stored coffee in the refrigerator after I open it. I bought some of that gourmet coffee the other day and it says specifically not to refrigerate after opening. My question is how many of you store your coffee in the refrigerator?

I do not. It never lasts more than a few days anyway. And my Keurig cups are sealed to air prior to use so there's no need!

I have heard refrigerating coffee can cause it to get moldy. I used to refrigerate it years ago and never noticed any issues with mold. We use whole beans and grind as we go. I think this keeps it as fresh as possible.

I have 4 OXO vacuum sealed containers that hold a pound of beans each. Keeps it fresh for the duration. You can find them at Bed, Bath & Etc.

I drink so much coffee that the grounds don't have time to go bad. I don't refrigerate my coffee after opening.

I do, out of habit - don't notice any difference in taste, never had a mold issue. The "habit" is that that is the space for it, if moved else where it would displace quite a bit of stuff.

I was always told airtight container was the important factor.

Blasphemy !!!... Never store it in either the fridge or freezer... Buy whole beans & grind them yourself... Even fresher if you buy beans & roast them yourself...

Same here, I buy the one-pounder metal cans every two weeks, never put in the fridge.....no room anyway and it would always get shoved to the back!

I used to store in the freezer and the fridge, and didn't have any issues. However, after I heard that it was a no no to do so, I stopped. I now keep my opened 5 pound bags in the cupboard, with an oxygen eater or two thrown in. Seems to work well, and my opended coffee lasts more than a month without issues. I only use beans, so I can't speak to results with ground coffee.
