Lake of the Ozarks was frozen last week and this bald eagle stopped by to watch the ice melt. He was bashful and stayed in the shadows. He hung around for 30 minutes or more and I took photos from our deck without disturbing him. This was one of the best. Taken with a Canon SX50. I heavily cropped it and removed some unfortunately placed branches. Might still be good enough to print and carry around in my wallet.

Nice photo, only got 1 good look at eagle here and managed to get a few quick shots of EIF.

Thanks Pete. I haven't had any luck with EIF... not much opportunity. Guess I should keep practicing with flying starlings.

Thanks Jimjay. We get a lot of winter migrants here in Missouri... especially around the damns on the Mississippi. I haven't done a river watch this year, so just lucky to have one stop near by.
