No 2 is my choice. The blue knocks it out of the park.

I hate to be negative, but I like the original better. Why you ask? Because the upper part has a very nice blue color going on and I like the extra colors to help enhance the photo.
One other thing that I don't like is that the horizon line is close to dead center which mostly does not float my boat. It works sometimes, but for my preference, it's not on this image.
Thanks.

The original is very beautiful. No offense intended or taken. Everything you said is very valid. Just couldn't resist a little experiment.

Thank you Wullie for your input. I agree with you in keeping the blue color in there.

wings42, I encourage everyone here on UHH to experiment and if you would like to experiment on my photos, I'm fine with that. Often times you never know if it could be improved without expermenting and seeing the results.
Thanks for saying the original is very beautiful.

NO cropping on that one for sure. The sky and those beautiful clouds with the blue are what makes that picture so eye catching. The sky is what drew me to it.

I like them they are lovely shots BUT - I'm a scenery kind of gal. I can do without the people UNLESS... I know them or they want their picture taken.

I got such a good review from my other post of San Onofre sunset, that I thought I would share two more from the same sunset surfing session.

SENSORLOUPE, I must say that for the most part, I have the mentality that you do.....going for the bold and the striking image.....BUT........as I mature, I also can appreciate the subtle soft colors and pastels of beauty. I like the first image because of the surfer in the forground with those soft colors.
