Stormy weather

Here's a shot from last night a few kilometres from home just before a large storm came through. I am pleased with the HDR version of this shot because I think it is almost identical to what it looked like to my eye and in my opinion looks fairly natural.

Seven exposure merge (+3 to -3), in Photomatix V5.

andrew,

Very nice processing in HDR, it looks about as natural as you could expect.

If you could have waited a bit longer, would you have captured a squall line in the distant dark clouds? That would have added drama to the scene.

Nicely done, not over done, post processing an HDR image can easily be overdone. You did a great job here.

Keep shooting.

That's an excellent example of how HDR should be used in my opinion. Giving the viewer the dynamic range the photographer could see but the camera's sensor can't capture. Great work.

Thanks Michael, about 2 minutes after I took this it started to pour with rain, fortunately I was only 90 seconds from the car :-)
