Greetings !
This is my first photo post here. The image was captured with my new D7100 and a Nikkor 18-200mm glass. The only PP was conversion from color to B&W in Photoshop Elements 6.
Please let me know your critique/thoughts on what could be done to improve/change this image.
Thanks.

I like this image very much, but there is no detail in her face or hair. If you lighten shadows by 20% and darken highlights by 20% you can recover some detail in her hair and a little bit in her face, and the highlights look better too. Other than that, I think you did a great job.

Welcome! There's lots to do on UHH and lots to learn. It's a nice composition, though I would not include that small edge of the left-most box that's showing on the lower corner. Looks like you got good detail in her fingers and hair. There needs to be a bit more detail in the right side of her face, in my humble opinion. I think HT gave you good advice on experimenting with a possible solution. I'm wondering if this is cropped, or shot with this framing. It looks like Dorise, and if it is, I'm wondering if Tanya is there too. They are great subjects any time of day and night.

Hint to new member: go to the forum front page and click on the heading "All Sections". You'll find more forum sections that you probably didn't know were there. You can "subscribe" to the ones that interest you and they'll show up on your front page after that.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try your suggestions. As I said this was posted exactly as captured except for the B&W conversion.
PS: I think "she" is a "he" . . ,

Thanks for the suggestions. The photo was uncropped and unretouched except for the B&W conversion. You are right about the distraction on the lower left. I will fix it. Also, thanks for the suggestions on the forums. I will check it out. As I mentions above, I believe this was a male . . .

Thanks for the correction. I forgot that men wear corn rows too.

We saw her in NO playing with a friend. We even bought one of their CD's. Nice picture.

Good shot, Doc; I only wish he would've looked up so we could see his face more clearly.

Y'all were correct regarding this musician's gender. She is a she.
It became evident as I corrected the image to enhance shadows and highlights.
My apologies to her and all here.
