1. IMPACT-This doesn't have the impact for me that some of your others do.
2. TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE-Technically it is well done. It has a wide range of tonality.
3. CREATIVITY-
4. STYLE
5. COMPOSITION-I would have liked this better if the guy in the left hand corner were more in focus or not there at all. I think the man across the street is more part of this story for the viewer.
6. PRESENTATION
7. COLOR BALANCE
8. CENTER OF INTERESTIt is easy to pick out what the subject is.
9. LIGHTING
10. SUBJECT MATTER- I think this would have been an excellent subject with a different angle. Too bad you weren't across the street or she coming at you.
11. TECHNIQUE
12. STORY TELLING-It does tell a story. I just think the story line would have been stronger from a different angle.

Nice. A lady in a little black dress. It's something every man loves isn't it? And you've captured the lady, with a man looking on. I love where you have your focus on this one, Graham. Now I am wondering, is she alone and looking for company or is she meeting someone. It's a nice little mystery shot. Great timing.

But the guy that we can tell is looking is viewing from the front. :D
I guess I am going to have to ask the guy I live with what his preference is. 31 years and I don't know.

Ah Graham, who doesn't love The Little Black Dress!
Nice angle, great processing.
I love the "look through the crowd" DOF.
The OOF person in front, normally I would say they were too large in the image, but in this one I think it suits very well. You could crop 15% off the left to crop it to square but its not a game breaker.
And the remarkable cobbles just set it off.
Nice use of vignette again and her light skintones draw immediate attention to make her the focal point.
Nice work.

I see what you and a few others on here do with you black and white conversions and always say to myself how this type of conversion changes the whole mood of the image.
I really like this shot and it is great the way it was shot as street photography. If you where to set it up without anyone on the left and both men facing her showing a "wow" reaction to seeing her there would be no need to see her face.

I can't use the standard criteria to critique or comment on this photo. It is more of an emotional response to a style of street photography that was in vogue in Europe (primarily in and around the major metropolitan areas) during the years shortly before WWII (with a resurgence in the 1950's). You have a unique interpretation that must be added, not compared, to the works of Brassaï, HCB and Doisneau. Your photographs have been eclectic in nature, but you have developed this particular technique to almost a level that is uncanny in its ability to create flashbacks to a different time, a time when our world was very different.

Strange! I immediately flashed on the movie, "Brief Encounter", then lingered on it.
I'd love to have one of my photos do thar!

Graham, I like this shot and composition. The detail and tone are excellent and the story it tells me is the man in the rear is lost in thought as he views this woman from the rear and the man in front seems to be acting like he is not looking, but of course he is. After all, what man can avoid looking at a nice looking woman in a tight black dress. This works very well as street photography by capturing life in a single moment of time.

1. IMPACT- At the pleasant level, not dull, yet not wow.
2. TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE-Technically it is well done. It has a wide range of tonality, lighting good, possible slight vignetting to focus bright on center subject.
3. CREATIVITY- "God Created Woman" name of an old movie. This photo scene was not created but could have been staged.
4. STYLE- Street photo style well executed of the moment.
5. COMPOSITION- Reads from low left to upper right with emphasis on the main subject. The woman left and the man right are key to the story. Photo adheres to the 3 main items non clutter guide line.
6. PRESENTATION.. standard of forum, kudos for not putting some cheesie digital frame around the edges.
7. COLOR BALANCE NA
8. CENTER OF INTEREST - Human interaction the young lady has a fine body and as we can see a hint of an attractive face.
9. LIGHTING - natural lighting ... strange her shadow is left and his to right lighting very diffuse.
10. SUBJECT MATTER- Excellent she is central character and the supporting cast is woman left and man right
11. TECHNIQUE - B&W is excellent for photography, the choice for stimulating the imagination. Colors often distract.
12. STORY TELLING- Here we have a story of envy by the girl left and lust by the man at the right. Sex in B&W subtle.

Without question in CClub an award winner. The ol' B&W graham is back ... good.

The OOF gentleman in the foreground makes this image special; leaves each of us with our individual thoughts as to the gentleman's fantasies...outstanding!

I guess I am missing this one by a long shot. I seem to be totally out voted. I look at this and the focus and treatment are excellent, but the picture does nothing for me. :(
I so want that guy on the left to be in better focus.
BTW Nightski I asked and you are right.
I guess I am clueless.
