What is your preferred way to display your images online?
Why do you display them there?

Preferred way: Not to display them.
Reason: Many of the photos I take are of our grandchildren. They are happier to get their photos in an album or photobook that they can show to aunts, uncles, other grandparents, even show & tell at school, than they are to get them on-line.
There has also been a request from one of the grandkids parents not to display the photos on-line for everyone to see, but that came long after I already decided ....
flickr looks great and very easy to use

Flickr. Free.
I just set up most of them as family so the world doesn't see. And the family is on-line all the time with phones, tablets and whatnots.
I've used Flickr since 2005...Customizable as to who can see what images...I also patronize several Flickr forums & moderate a few... The exposure has garnered me sales as well...

I don't generally post photos, as most of mine are paid for by someone else. If I post, the preferred way for me is shootproof.com There are other sites that do the same thing. I use them because they have as good as any security measures (but if someone's going to steal it they can use the "snip tool" and steal anything online) the benifit is that people viewing my photos on shootproof can purchase them at MY set prices, they are sent to the customer with MY business information, not the lab's. The best part is, the service can be month to month, and you only pay for the month's that you want your stuff posted for sale.

I post new images every day on my wildlife photography blog.
In addition to the new content, I have galleries and archived post categories listed by species and by month and year.
I guess this method must be working OK enough, I average over 450 hits a day and have had views from 130 different countries.
Some great shots! Kudos :)
I use SmugMug because it lets me control who can see the pictures and whether they can download any.
