My opinion -- Hell Yes !!!

Any US citizen who has publically renounced his citizenship and actively advocates terrorism attacks against US targets, persons and interests has lost the protections of the country that he once was a member of.

I am unaware that the targeted person had publicly renounced his citizenship. The article doesn't mention that. If he hasn't, and is still a citizen, his intentional targeting for death disturbs me a little.
When the executive branch gets to decide which citizens live, and which die, without either substantive or procedural due process, I am immediately suspect.
Especially since it is releasing practically no information about who he is and what he is alleged to have done.

being retired Military, I say YES. Any person that changes his way of viewing us, and also targets either property or citizens, should be eliminated.

The article dropped one of their names-- Adam Gadahn. I believe that his nom-de-guerre is "The American". He renounced his US citizenship after 9-11 (don't remember the exact date) and started to advocate for the destruction of the US through terrorist means .

How to change all those people who think we should not kill them? Have the ex americans move next door to these sympathetic people. Maybe they would change their mind. Come on people these are terrorists that are trying to kill Americans and destroy the United States I want my family safe from these people.

Yes, but the article doesn't identify him as the putative target.

Yes -- You are correct. No one has been identified as putative targets PUBLICALLY.

However, I can't help wondering if this was notice served that those who like "The American" being around them understand the ramifications that they should no longer think of him, and any other Westerners who betrayed their countries, as human shields.

IF he renounced his citizenship then due process is out the window. He is a terrorist and an enemy of america..... take him out.

My gut reaction is- he made his bed- let him die in it...

But I guess we should know exactly why, what are his crimes and against who, and just how dangerous he is, or the government could decide to say anything they wish about anybody and make up any reason to kill them. They don;t have a long history of telling the truth about anything- note the poor guy who made a bad movie was the only person in the world to be held responsible for the murder of a US diplomat and several citizens, immediately imprisoned for a parole violation once he was fingered by those making this same decision. The government, Obama, and Hillary themselves, knowingly blamed him for weeks, at the very highest levels in the world, in speeches to the UN... and that was all complete lies. How can we trust anything they say about this guy?

So its not for the guy I have concerns.. it's you and I.

You have a very valid point about the government not being truthful or trustworthy in some of these matters.

So how would you handle the POWs of Korea and Viet Nam. While interned, some have been brained washed severly. How many of them would you execute?

As for targeting citizens or property damage. It seems many people are in American prison for this same action. The only difference is religion, but hasn't America recently have a very large compulsion to keep religion out of government? Now you are trying to claim that is why they should be executed without a trial.

As much as I dislike what I am about to say because I do believe in "I may not like what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it", so I am defending them. YUK! When you start eliminating Constitutional right for citizens, as in the reason for the Viet Nam war, a domino effect happens.
It seems freedom of speech, right to arm oneself, now the Fifth and a right to a trial all seem to be on the line. If they fall so does America.

If they are killed on a battle field that is one thing, but if captured and claimed to be American, as long as we are not at war with them and they are not wearing military uniforms, they are due a trial by peers. As much as I hate to say it, they are still American citizens and have rights. Even spies are not executed without a trial.

We as Americans can not take the easy way out. We need to honor our Constitution! Show me where in the Constitution where it is permissible to eliminate people without a fair trial. That is what America is about. Even Benedict Arnold was allowed a trial.

I say deport him. Toss him over the fence into Mexico with a T-shirt that says "Just Say No To Drugs"
