I just saw this video by Moose Peterson about the Sensor Gel cleaning device. Moose gives a demonstration on how to use it. I think the price is about $40.00.
What I liked was no liquids no swabs, no blower that never quite seems to do the job.
Check it out here

I saw that somewhere, but it doesn't appeal to me. It seems like it would cause scratches because it makes such firm contact with the sensor. I'm probably wrong, though, because I've seen demos, and the users seem to like it.

I took my camera in yesterday to have the sensor cleaned. With the cost of the camera i am unwilling to risk a mistake attempting to do it myself.

I've always been a do-it-yourselfer but with some things I just hate to run the risk of learning the hard way. Cleaning my camera that deep seems like one of those things.

I've seen a Leica video of them being used in their factory during final assembly. That's a good enough recommendation for me :-)

Don't be scared Marilyn.:):) Heck, if I didn't do it myself, the camera store would have my camera more than me.:):):) I am hard on it taking it in the truck and every where else I go. And always playing with different lenses. It isn't all that hard.:):) Send me your camera and that big 400 lens. I should have it all clean by next Christmas!:)

I'm with you there Erv, I've always cleaned my sensors, from D100, D200, D700 and Leica M9p. I think it must be a carpenter thing (I think you were/are a carpenter?)

It's not all then hard to clean a sensor. It is just scary the first time. You always will remember your first time. I did a post about my first time here I'll see if I can locate it. Ha I found it

This is why you should get a second body - a nice refurb.
