Loved the pictures, the B17 was undoubtedly a great aircraft, and was flown by many brave young men who suffered appalling losses, BUT it was not in use from the start of WW2, which began in 1939. I believe that the USA only declared war in December 1941, and the first raid by B17s was on French Railway yards in 1942.

Thank you! I've seen this a/c several times, but only have a few photos. You did a wonderful job of photographing a piece of military aviation history! It is truly a flying museum... :thumbup: :thumbup:

Gitchigumi, please note that I did not do the photography. In my original post it was credited to Bernard Zee. He did a great job in my opinion.
