Iduno Loc: Near Tampa Florida

I do all of my shooting in raw using a Canon T3i.I backup the raw photos to a DVD and then proceed to do whatever processing I want in Lightroom 3. Since a lot of what I shoot are family photos I'd like to batch resize so they can be printed no larger than 8 x 10 and then remove the raw files from my storage device. My study in this area has only confused me more. I was hoping someone could share a recommended workflow (with or without using Lightroom).

This may, or may not help. I shoot Nikon raw >90% of the time.

1. Backup my originals to a ZIP file, and archive to external drive and periodically archived to CD/DVD.
2. Import into Lightroom for basic editing, keywords, etc. I've started experimenting with using the free software that came with the camera to convert raw to TIFF before the import because of the slight color degradation from Adobe Raw conversion.
3. Export those that will be put on web to JPEG, save others in either raw or TIFF, whatever they are, to a working directory.
4. Backup edited versions to another ZIP file (different name), and archive as the originals.

Lightroom 3 has the ability to set the export size to whatever you want (File : Export - Image Sizing).
