I don't know whether this was a barn or a shed or what... It just sort-of sits there in the middle of an open field. Whats left of it does, anyway...

looks like a barn to me
A barn it is. Like the B&W shots.

I like the black and white shots especially the first one. Nice job.

The second loft indicates it to be a barn.
nice captures.
very nice! i prefer color and like the house in the background, but they are all great shots.
Since most of the barns I have been around since I was a kid had at least one large door capable of getting either a wagon or truck or tractor into I would say this is a animal shed. It has doors large enough for horses and cows and the shelving on the second floor would hold nests for chickens.
Looks great in black and white

Buildings like that can be a real mystery. It doesn't look like a house, yet who ever owned it must have lived nearby, so where's their house? Who owns it now? Who's paying the taxes?
Nice shots.
To small to be a barn, notice the size of the stairs, probably
a shed. The color ones look better to me.

Most barns don't use stairs, they use ladders. I missed that.

Yeah, the size isn't too obvious in the photo, but it is pretty small for a barn. Most sheds don't have 2 levels, though.
It isn't real close to any other outbuildings, like part of a farm. I have several shots taken from various directions that I haven't posted yet. The nearest buildings are all houses, but none of them are *that* close. Nobody came up to ask me what I was doing - and that happened several times while I was shooting these buildings that day, so I wasn't in someone's garden.
It isn't an issue - I just loved the look of the place. I couldn't really call it a rustic barn, though.
