Oh what a nice shot! I am amazed that the deer stood still long enough for a picture! I have tried many times through the window and as soon as they see me. They move!

Thank you. I have a family of four deer that live on my property. They are not tame but they have grown used to seeing me. They do not hang around very long when they see that I'm pointing a camera lens at them.
What a pretty deer. How lucky to have them so close to be able to catch some shots.
Wonderful picture, Dave! Lucky you having such a view from your window! :)

Thank you. I'm glad so many like that deer photo. I think I'll show it at the next meeting of our local camera club.
Yes, I am very lucky to have beautiful views out my windows. I'm retired and recently bought the house pictured below. It's on a steep hill side with a very steep driveway nearly a quarter of a mile long. This has been a harsh winter with a lot of snow and ice. Even with salt the driveway, it is at times, impossible to ascend. "I'm only a bird in a gilded cage." But, I love the cage I'm in. My wife and I have two full refrigerators plus a freezer full of food. The house has a whole house, natural gas, generator that automatically kicks on in the event of a power failure. When it gets very cold with high winds the deer will sleep in our back yard pictured below. I think they do this, because, the house blocks the wind. Tomorrow, if we get the snow the weather man is predicting I will need to bundle up with heavy clothing, put steel springs around my boots so I can stand on the ice, and use trekking poles, just to get to my mail box. The cars will stay in the garage. Sounds harsh but I love it and I'm glad to have the wild life to entertain me. I attached another deer photo taken out a different window this year.

What a beautiful home, Dave! And the deer are a bonus for sure!
Most of the time deer wait until the sun sets before they become active. They must be hungry because I managed to catch one in full light today. The sun was setting.
