Have any of you UHH bought from 42nd Street Photo and what was your experience?
Bait and Switch, plain and simple. They are not an authorized retailer for anything so you will only get grey market gear, and usually pay a premium price for it by the time you get everything that should have been included in the purchase.

Yes, it's the call you have to watch out for; They try to sell you more equipment than you ordered.
Also be pacific with them on the brand you ordered, say, for example, I want everything in Canon Brand.
Otherwise, they are reasonable in their prices. :-D
What are you looking to purchase from them? Depending on what you are after you should probably listen to MT Shooter on this. ;)

They had the Nikon D4 that was a grand cheaper than anyone else.

This has been a topic on UHH a number of times. Use "Search" above for the many previous threads.
The D4 I see using this link is used.

Ah, yes. And what about the 42nd St D4?

I believe it is new as nothing was said about used... ;)
About three years ago I bought a Sony DSLR from them. Same thing -- it was almost $900 cheaper than anyone else.
I did get a phone call to "confirm" delivery address, which I did, and try and up sell some accessories, which I politely declined.
The camera was new in a sealed box, complete with all parts, full US warranty which I registered, so no problems at all.
I'm not saying other, more negative reports are inaccurate, just that my experience was very positive and the savings well worth dealing with this company.
You want to buy from an authorized dealer. Nikon will not service gray market cameras. There is a reason why the camera is $1000 less than an authorized dealer.

The camera came from another country i.e. non US authorized dealer.

The equipment is identical to U. S. equipment, but the warranty doesn't apply. In the case of Nikon, they won't touch it. Since Nikon controls the sale of their repair parts, even an independent shop wouldn't be able to repair it. Canon will repair grey market - for a price.
When you buy a U. S. product, the price you pay goes to the importer, so there are funds for warranty work. With a grey market product, all the profit is out-of-country.
I don't know why this tends to be spelled with an "e." I'll have to go back to spelling it correctly. :D
