Here's something that will help you get out of your predicament. A portable half-track from the Herrington Catalog.

just get you a strip of used carpet. what i use.

If the carpet doesn't slip. The half track looks like it would grip the snow.

carpet works well ice or snow. just go dumpster behind a carpet store. bring box knife. about 3 4 ft long.

I just throw some of the thugs in the neighbor under the tires. That seems to work and you can get rid of a few thugs at the same time!

My wife uses the floor mats from her car. Works well on ice, you just have to ease out, try not to spin them out.

thats what i was using, until i drove by a carpet store an seen all that carpet hanging out the dumbster. i stopped in asked if i could cut some off. handy too just roll'em up when they dry enough. stuff in corner upto ft wide.
