Worth my time?

Are either of these photos worth submitting to a contest as 11 x 14 prints? Thoughts, please.

Edit: Lest you think I can't count, the third photo is a slip of the brain--didn't mean to include it. Speak to it, too, if you wish.

#1 has a lot of color fringing on the edges of objects, which contest judges may frown upon. Did you use an inexpensive extender on the lens perhaps? And I don't think the featureless sky is helping much. Not every outdoor photo needs to have deep blue skies, but some visible cloud features would have been better than a bland white backdrop.

I think the crop at the bottom of #2 is a bit awkward. I usually avoid cutting off so near to the base area of gates, fences and buildings as this gives the composition too much of a random snapshot or claustrophobic feel. Just as I avoid photographing people with their ankles cut off at the bottom of the frame.
