Nikon doing the right thing

Last year I had 5 Nikon D600's everyone had dust and spot issues, well a few weeks ago I returned my 5th one to he dealer and they replaced it with a D610 for no charge, that was great, the sensor is spotless after shooting for 2 months what a joy it is to not crop out hundreds of spots.

Any way it seems like Nikon is now trading out d610's for 600's sent in for repair http://nikonrumors.com/2014/01/27/nikon-is-replacing-some-d600-cameras-with-new-d610-models.aspx/

My guess was that at some point these shutters would start to fail from pieces being shredded off with each click.

Last month (DEC 2013) I sent my D600 back to Nikon (Melville, NY) that had sensor spot issues after only 2,000 clicks. The camera was out of warranty, purchased in OCT 2012. They replaced the shutter mechanism, cleaned the sensor and brought the unit back to factory specs. They charged me $40 for the service and $12 for shipping. They did not offer to replace it with a D610. Perhaps having 5 of these cameras gave you a bit more clout. QED

It reads like the camera was sent back 5 times, not that he has 5 cameras....

"last year I had 5 Nikon D600's, everyone had"
That does not sound like one camera to me sent
back 5 times.

I agree. May not be what he meant BUT-- sounds like he had 5.
Also "I returned my 5th one".
