For ten years I visited Margaritavill - at times we stayed in that Hotel (Ojo De Agua ) Puerto Morelos, MX and walked that beach with a drink in my hand - then spent 15 yrs walking it sober - WOW what an eye opener.

quote=pounder35]Too many days and nights wasted away in Margaritaviile for me. I had forgotten that song. Thanks for the memories. Or lack of. [/quote]

It would be more correctly titled like this as Mariachi is a band -a musician is a musician.
Mariachi de felize caballeros quatro - in Spanish
Mariachi of four Happy Friends

For the life of me I can't see where the word "Gay" cannot still mean happy!!!!

Well I suppose it can and does mean happy for some people but the homosexual community have hijacked the word "gay" with such purpose that it has in fact taken on a whole new meaning.

However, I've noticed of late that it is being used in a different context yet again.

The young crowd today are using the word "gay" to mean ridiculous, useless or idiotic. "Lame" in other words.

…just saying.

I love many of the movies from the late 30's through the early 60's. It becomes obvious quickly while watching those movies that the word "gay" has been co-opted from the vernacular of an earlier era. I have also seen it used in the context of "lame" but I doubt that usage will survive as the bully PC crowd will eventually stomp out any competition for use of the term, being they are so open mined and such.

How do you know they're gay? LOL. Maybe, considering what the term gay means today, they should be Happy Caballeros.

They don't look much like caballeros either. Caballeros are Mexican cowboys. These guys look like musicians to me. Gay or not is up to them.

I suppose the old Christmas tune with words of, "Now we don our gay apparel," is out of the question anymore too.

My best to you all. Good shooting,

Dennis

I think the term gay as it's used here refers to brightly colored clothing. Nothing sexual.
