While delivering a mattress for a roommate's friend, I saw a blonde with her back turned to me. She was talking on the phone. Told my roommate, "I'm going to marry that girl!"; we both laughed hysterically as we left the apartment. Next day, I was invited to the friend's for dinner as repayment for the mattress.
Invited the blonde to go for pizza. She accepted; we met at "Junction Square" in Grand Junction, CO. She confessed that when I'd first seen her, she was breaking up with her boyfriend on that phone call.
4 dates in, I told her that when I first met her, I'd told my roommate that I was going to marry her! She immediately went silent, broke off our date, and never wanted to see me again.
A year later, she called, asking for a second chance. We met - and it was like old home week! Six months later we married atop the Colorado National Monument. 4 children and 32 years later, we're still in love.
(...just the beginning...) :)

I was working my way through high school washing dishes in the school cafeteria. I looked threw the Tray Return Window and in walks this Beautiful Freshman Red Head with three friends. Our eyes met and we fell in love on the spot. We never dated anyone else. I asked our local pastor six months later if he would marry us when she graduated. Four yeas later he did, that was fifty years ago and we have been married for forty six years now. That I love you look is still in our eyes today. They say if you get through the first year together you have it made. Due to the Military and Vietnam, we had thirty eight days together for the first eighteen months of marriage. Her and her three friends meet and have lunch together each year.

As a junior in High School sitting in Government class a blonde haired beauty turned around and asked me what I would be doing for Thanksgiving. Having no plans of my own she invited me to her house to go horseback riding and then have dinner. From that day we started dating and after school we married. I left for Vietnam six months after we wed. That's the only time we have ever been separated. Now married for 47 years our love continues to grow. My combat unit still gets together every other year and I attend, but not without her. DZ
