It was so cold

..that bubbles froze. Okay, I'm not the first to post some but with a little creative post processing (mainly to get the frost patterns to show up) I have several colors of frozen bubbles.
Stood outside my office at -15 windchill (sans coat, because I was only going to be out there for a couple of minutes) and got a couple of bubbles to freeze.
C&C always welcome.
The things we do to get a great photo, I would never have thought about it, so very creative tk and excellent processing. Great stuff.

Combating cabin fever! Noticed you had a few different shots posted lately! At least we aren't bored and grumpy.
A terrific way to be avoid boredom and grumpiness :) These are very, dare I say, cool!

Well
.you dig out the bubbles from the cupboard that the grandkids didn't use up. Then you go outside
.. use the wand and blow a bubble from the wand. Now you have to have almost no wind hitting the wand or you loose the bubble or it breaks. You have to catch the bubble on the wand. The other thing I did was to blow very slowly until a bubble started but didn't escape. I had someone hold it while I took a shot of it crystalizing, takes about 30 sec to 1 minute depending on the outside temperature. It must be 10 degrees or below. The colder the faster!
In post processing (I use Lightroom) I went to extremes of lower exposure, higher contrast, higher clarity, higher sharpening and then fiddled with the color temperature sliders to get different colors that helped with defining the patterns. As soon as you start to see the bubble crystalize start shooting because it can get too crystalized and the shot is blurry. If the sun is out and hits the bubble it will break. But that is fun to see also.
Go out there and show me what you've got!

Get them before 12 degrees, no wind. Set up your tripod so you can put the wand on it. Find a way to clamp it on the tripod and when you start to see the inside of the bubble swirl the magic is happening! Have fun! My hubby has asthma also. Nasty business.
