We get soo many questions about achieving sharp focus. This link presents two tips: use single-point center focus, and use AF-S.

I'm cursed.. Worked at a newspaper for a few years as a copy editor and when I read an article, the proofer takes over.

Second paragraph states' Second, set you camera to AF-S -- my eye stopped scrolling right then.

Damn I hate that.

Online articles are full of errors and typos, and it really does hurt their credibility.

I'm with you Jerry, to me, it really only bothers me when there are glaring typo's in books that I have paid a lot of money for and they are staring me in the face. Seems like publishers these days really don't care about the quality of their printed works.

I used to be reading a book all the time, but since I am doing more online, well...

In just about every book I read there was at least one typo, but I didn't mind. I got a kick out of finding errors. Even when a couple of people - and a computer - go through a book, it's still possible to miss things. A short online article is different, though. the author should be able to catch a mistake in one or two pages.

Second, set your camera to AF-S or ONE SHOT. This setting makes the camera stay focussed on the same spot as long as you keep the shutter button depressed half way.
