The scavenger hunt was one of Annette's frequent challenges so as a challenge tribute to her I thought that a scavenger hunt should be one of our early tasks with a little thought about her influence on what or how we look at what we photograph.
1. Signs: signs that warn, signs that inform, or signs that just tickle to no end.
2. demo depth of field as you understand it. Shoot anything you want that will show focus for a large depth of field and then one that will show a short depth of field. Let me know your aperture settings.
3. Shoot a low angle of an early morning shadow. Even if it's the most mundane of things, I know you'll make it interesting.
4. Give me a straight up shot. lie down, or crouch down, just shoot up. Oh and try to get something in the way of your shot.
5. And of course benches are wild cards.
Can't help but think of the 175 pair of shoes needed here.....
Out to get the Sunday paper and was struck by the long shadows of my short dormant grass....
Don't get dizzy looking up....
You know who this is for...
Looks like a great challenge lhammer. Thanks for hosting! I have missed much the last few days and will try and drop in more often to see what everyone comes up with.
We visited the Iwo Jima Monument today so for now here is one for "shooting up" This is a pillar at the information center in Harlingen. I just put the camera on the ground and took a shot. #2 framed the monument F22 #3 lined the canon up with the monument and took the shot F22. See you tomorrow!

I always enjoyed the scavenger hunts and your ideas sound like great ones.... I will have to get my thinking cap on.....
This sounds fun, but everyone is right - need to think a bit.
This one is like no other bench I've seen. Fond Memories, Annette.
While waiting for morning light this short depth of field contribution. At, f 5.6, this Red Squirrel outside my dining room window yesterday.
Red Squirrel head and wiskers
full body Red Squirrel
Posted this one yesterday but my question is if you cannot speak the languages will you have to pay the ticket if you burn it?
Archived, yes but I'll be out today for fresh ones
Thanks for hosting lhammer.....and what a list of items to be found! Was out yesterday when it was sunny and in the 30's and keeping Pat's 'Arcs' in mind.....temps are dropping today....now at 19F and to get colder and colder as the day progresses and it is not to warm up this week. So, will have to see what quick shots I can get!

Here are 2 that 'fall' under the shooting straight up category. These were taken before I learned how to edit, so they aren't real good...
