Yesterday I went in to get my flu shot. I chose the location in Riverside, CA as I would be able to visit friends who work at Kaiser Permanente. There is also a Ritz Camera a couple of miles down the road.
Figured I'd get my shot, visit for a bit and then get a spare battery for my D7100--900 shots per charge? Doesn't seem likely.
Anyway, I pull into the parking lot and there is no more Ritz there. It seems to be one of those places where they install speakers and tint your windows. Doesn't look like it's been there long.
Fortunately, there is a Best Buy around as well and they all seem to carry exactly 1 EN-EL15.
I'm just curious about Ritz. I would rarely go there, but it was a convenient place where one could pick up things normally needing to be ordered online.
I used their store locator and it seems that they no longer have any stores in CA.

They failed their second bankruptcy, and a venture capital group bought them up for a song. Very few locations left.
The company still exist on line. Few brick and mortar photo stores exists, ritz or not.

Pretty much. I've got a Calumet 50+ miles south of me in San Diego County. Another 50+ miles in Santa Ana and another close to 100 miles in Los Angeles.
There are also a couple of Samy's locations outside of 50 miles.
I'd like to break the Best Buy habit as the new rules for their rewards program are a bit restrictive. Perhaps I'll consider a 50 or so mile car trip when I am in the market for a new lens
We don't have any in Connecticut anymore either. There used to be one right near where I live, but they've been gone for a while now, sorry to say.

Make that a photo trip and PP the pictures to death!!!
Last I looked, Ritz and Wolf had a "common" website, differing only in the headers....
Haven't been to either for a while.

Lol!
They did have two things going for them, at least for me. They were local.
My head starts spinning when I enter a camera store--BestBuy just doesn't do that for me.

I believe Mike's Cameras bought most of the locations. From what I've seen, they're not much better than Ritz - still high pressure and up-sale tactics. One plus - they do carry quality products at fair ( ⇈ ) prices and no Quantaray!
I hope so. I had almost $200 in gift certificates that they would not honor when they went bankrupt. I kept stopping by to try to find something I would buy.
One of the Cary, NC locations is now an independent photo store. Nice people, but not as many cameras or supplies as before.

Why do you always have those "rules" at the bottom of your responses.

The best one was in Danbury, tho it was a drive for me, he always had everything in stock so I could play with them before I bought them.
