flash to tripod adapter

I have just spend a good half hour searching the 'net, without results.
I am looking for an adapter to place my flash on a tripod: a small square box with a screw hole on the bottom so I can fasten a quick release plate in it, and a (non-working) hot shoe on the top to fasten the flash to. It is a remote-capable flash, no need for a cord or "hot" hot shoe.
Does such a thing even exist? If so, would someone point me to a website, please?

Surprisingly enough yes...it's the shipping that kills you.

I have a phone belt case that cost 5 cents on on amazon that I use daily...shipping like $5.

Sometimes you just can't get a break! And then they make you pay for shipping! :D

I've bought quite a few one-cent books on Amazon. People have them and just want to get rid of them. So, for $4.00, I get the book I want.

I know exactly what you mean, and if I find one, I'll post a link. When you buy a flash gun, a separate little stand will be included with it. That lets you set the flash off to the side somewhere or use the 1/4" hole on the bottom to mount it on a tripod.

EDIT: Here's one for a Sony.

I think this should do it.

Now, why could I not find that? All I was presented with were adapters from one brand of hot shoe to another!
Thank you all so much... I'm going shopping as soon as I get home, forgot to bring my credit card!

Even if you don't buy from them (I HIGHLY recommend them), you can learn a lot from the variety of their listings. Good luck.

Maybe I should post this as a separate topic but......since we are on the subject....
The product shown on eBay has a metal shoe mount. I have some old (old old) adapters that are 100% metal.
With all of the contacts that there are on modern speedlights, does the metal shoe present a problem? I haven't had the nerve to try.

Would depend on the area where the contacts slide in and sit when the flash is on the mount. The old ones should have a non-metal area where the contacts slide in, but if not, they probably would cause problems.
