I just received my metal (aluminum) print from Adorama. Is is a black and white 16x24 landscape and OMG it is beautiful. Even prettier than the print or even the computer version. I ordered it last Saturday, so service was very fast.
If you are curious about the original, I did take some suggestions and modified it.

I love me a metallic print...the next step above that is taking that print and putting 3/4" acrylic in front of it...simply stunning.

Very nice... I was just taking about metal printing this morning with a fellow photog. Would you mind sharing more info on this?

How did you create your original, and did you have to do anything special in PP to prepare it for print? Thanks for sharing. -Mark

Just a photo I took with my canon 7D. This one I converted to black and white. Cropped it to the correct size, filled out their form, attached the photo. Simple.

This was a metal print, not a metallic print, printed directly to a sheet of aluminum, has a mounting square in back to hold it away from the wall.
Well maybe you knew this and were adding another type of beautiful print.

Would you mind if I cropped a part of your photo and posted it here to ask a question?

Just curious how you did this... it's grainy, but it looks intentional---a pattern. Very cool effect. Did you do this in post processing?

grain pattern

Grain came from both the fog that was just beyond the trees and over sharpening on that photo. I went back to the original and did some changes but did not sharpen. No grain showed up on my print. The cool thing is the optical illusion that the sky behind the dark tree is lighter than the sky behind the frosty bushes.

What finish did you select? I am thinking of trying one of the small sizes for my photo to see just what it will look like. I have heard great things about Adorama's metal prints, but have never actually seen one.
I think your photo is great choice.

I chose the white finish for the greater contrast.

Thanks. Would you choose a different finish for a different photo or will you stick with white for all?

I like the white but I think there is one that produces richer colors (not sure). I have never seen one with a brushed finish, so I will have to study that. I may save my pennies and have a small one of each done for reference. That may sound like overkill but descriptions don't tell the visual part of me enough.

Thinking the same thing. Not sure I would like the brushed finish, tho.

Let us know what you think if you do get one with a different finish.

If you're going to sell any prints done this you, you absolutely need some for reference, they sell themselves, the description won't.
