Long Exposures (C&C Welcome)

This is one of my first posts here at UHH - it looks like a friendly photography forum. Nighttime photos are some of my favorites to take, but I am trying to improve my skills in all areas. These are three recent nighttime pics - I would love to get some feedback.

Feed back? Wish I could do that! My biggest challenge is what you have accomplished here. Settings? Tripod?

All three were taken with a tripod.
The first was a ten second exposure @f/9, ISO 250
The second was a 1/4 second exposure @f/7.1, ISO 2500
The last was a 4 second exposure @f/5.6, ISO 800
Some people take great pictures because of talent; some of us, like me, just throw enough mud on the wall that some of it sticks. :-)

Aineo, I am on my way out the door to take some shots of a church that has the outline done in lights. I will try some different settings. Man you were all over the spectrum and the shots turned out great. I am a true mud slinger.

Aneo...great shots! Some great shots are planned, some are by accident, but it doesn't matter. Learn from both types and improve your skills along the way. Ever seen those great shots in the National Geographic Magazines and wished you could do that? Me too, but I once read of how many rolls of film each photographer would normally shoot (back in the film days)just to get a few great shots! Sometimes it would be over 100 rolls!!! Made me feel better at least! :-) So your off to a great start, keep posting!

I like the first two a whole bunch. What if you straightened out the first one though? It may turn out even better yet.

I really like that first one. The reflections in the water give it a really nice feeling.

Great shots, agree with tainkc, the first shot needs to be straightened, the horizon goes uphill.
