Been lurking around here for a while, thought I'd jump in and say Hello!
I think I've had a camera in my hand since I was knee high to a Married Grasshopper. From the old Brownie my parents gave me when I was young, to the Argus C3 I inherited from My Dad, to the Olympus OM1 that I used for years. Then came Digital Cameras. Started with a Kodak DC4800, an Olympus x-42 & a Canon S5is. I wanted a DSLR for years but couldn't justify spending the $$ they wanted. Then, this Christmas, my beautiful wife bought me a Brand New Canon T3i. I guess leaving the Canon web site open all those times helped. LOL. How have I gotten along without it for all these years. I'm still learning all there is to know about it, but so far, I Love it.
After looking at some of the Pix everyone has posted, I'm looking forward to seeing what I can learn from all of you to help me on my journey. 8-)

Welcome to a fun, informative and addictive forum! I also have the T3i though all my "critter" shots have been taken with the Canon SX50.

What lenses do you have? I was quite content with the 18-55 kit lens for 4 years with my previous Rebel. Bought the 55-250 a year or so ago and like it a lot.

Others on this site use the T3i with much more expensive lenses and get great results!

I have the 18-55 kit lens right now. If I can sell some of my old 35mm & Medium Format equipment I'll probably pick up one of the 55-250's that Canon has out. Maybe I'll get that on my Birthday. LOL

Welcome to UHH SHLeM52. The old "web site" trick, shame on you. Glad it worked. After you get used to your new camera post some of your work. Enjoy the forum and have fun.
