Interesting Anhinga feeding sequence

Interesting Anhinga sequence from this morning. Speared the fish, flipped it up in the air, caught it, starts it down the hatch, and swallows. I wish these could have been in more tack sharp focus but this was shot at a considerable distance at 400mm and then highly cropped. Certainly not a good job technically, but undeniably an interesting sequence observing nature!

Thanks Sylvia and Jim - I would have so wanted to be a bit closer where I could have gotten this sequence tack sharp, but it was fun to watch, shoot and record. I've got a ton more shots of the sequence - I just quickly grabbed a few to post. I'll be putting up some shots of an owl family that I encountered in the same place!

Fantastic. Love seeing bird shots where the bird is interacting with its environment. This is great.

Thanks, next time I hope I can get one like that a bit closer not requiring severe cropping and the degradation in image quality. :(

Thanks HT, it's been a fascinating photographic day for me and i just encountered a beautiful red-shouldered hawk during sunset and got some good ones up close!
