Hi everyone,
Is anyone else experiencing commercials suddenly automatically playing out loud while on this forum - often two at the same time!
Does anyone know how to stop these very annoying commercials from playing? I hate having to constantly reach for my volume button esp when I'm listening to something that I actually WANTED to listen to at the same time.
Thanks so much to anyone who can solve this for me.

No, but I use Ad-Block, so I don't see the ads. My iPad get the ads but not the music. Strangely, the ads I get on the iPad are not at all photo related.
Yes, I also get the commercials playing automatically. I don't know the solution. I hope someone here has an answer. It's very annoying.
install adblock...no issues.

I don't mind seeing the ads but the past few weeks they're blasting me out of the water. Not photography ads but I'm going to start writing down which they are because I wouldn't buy from those that do this no matter what they're selling. Completely obnoxious! Thanks for chiming in, Jerry. I'll check out Ad-Block.
Hey ya'll. I use Mozilla and an add on called AdBlockPlus and I never see or hear advertisements. I forget they are even there until one of you mentions them. And I mean not one advertisement. Ever.

You mean use Mozilla instead of Chrome or Internet Explorer, both of which I have? Thanks for chiming in.

I just found a free version for Chrome. Thanks!

I've used both but I really really prefer Mozilla...the add ons and the way it works just suit me best and I reeeeeeely like the adblock feature more than anything else. Well, there are a few others, but overall, I just like Mozzie better. Personal preference kinda thing, but I hardly ever have any of the issues I see others have, trouble with posting, ads, viruses, etc. If you're adventurous, I'd say give it a try.
If you notice any ads that play audio on their own, please send a screenshot of the ad to info@uglyhedgehog.com to help me identify the specific advertiser.

Thank you for your attention to this issue. I will do so.
Sometimes it might be that you have watched a video clip on a website. At the end of the video it will just go silent. However, if you turn off your computer without exiting out of the website, and then turn the computer on later, the website will recycle to the beginning of the video and start playing it again.
This could happen to several websites you've left open, all at the same time. Many of these videos contain advertising, which are not usually blocked by advertising blockers.
So, when videos stop, close the website, or go to a different page without video clips.

Thanks, MisterWilson, but that's not it. These are ads playing loudly. One of the loudest is one with a marching penquin. Drives me nuts.
The loudness of the ads can be controlled by the volume icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
As for the ads, they have to be showing up somewhere on your computer. Can't you see a pop up or something? Check your task manager to see what is running when the ads are playing. Then you can figure out how to stop them.
