Still experimenting with Nik Silver Efex and following a trip to the botanic gardens I decided to see what these would look like.

I'd appreciate any thoughts and c&c

Definitely, Before. I don't think that those small plants lend themselves to b&w as much other images might. I like the depth I see when I look at the color as compared to the b&w. The b&w become images of patterns, whereas the color versions are obviously plants.
Just my humble opinion.

I lean toward the after. I think the patterns are interesting.

I think the B&W photos are interesting but more like beautiful wallpaper. I'm not sure what Nik efex is, but I would like to see this effect with some landscape or street images.
Keep experimenting. That's where "WOW" photos come from.
