maybe we should have the admin put up at the top of this site in pink neon letters "IF THE PRICE SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS"
That's something we should all know by now !!! Although a full frame for $220.00...tempting !!!! NOT !!

it could be related to those $150.00 porsches bought at police auctions. I saw that on tv so it must be true.
I just wish ADMIN, or whoever sells the advertising space on here would review the sites that advertise on UHH. I regularly see ads from known scam sites here, MELLODIGITAL.COM is one that was on here earlier today. BUYDIGITAL.COM was on here last week, check the reseller ratings on either of these scam sites.
CAMERASLAMP.COM is at the head of this page as I type it. Kind of misleading to the members here when this forum itself promotes these scam sites this way. IMHO

Hey now, I once bought a 7 year old Corvette at a DEA auction for $350. They had totally dismantled it searching for drugs, guess they found them too. I salvaged the rear end out of it and hauled the rest to the dump, thats how little was left intact. But it WAS a Corvette and I DID buy it for $350, they just don't tell you the whole truth on those auction sites.
If it's too good to be true, it isn't. Buy from a reputable store!!!!
can anyone tell me how to find out if a website is legeit? thanks

The first thing I do on sites like this is the find a physical address for the company. If it is hard to find on the site, there is usually a reason for that, and it usually isn't good. Real businesses wany potential customers to contact them, that's how they make sales, so they usually make it easy.
Second thing, plug the name of the business into BBB.com and see what they say.
Third, do exactly what you are doing now, ask around about the business.
Lastly, if you do decide to do business with a site you are unsure of, get a virtual card number from your credit card company and limit it to the total of your purchase.
thanks kcornman. i went to bbb.com it looks to be only usa and canada. im trying to find out if
http://cameraslamps.com/ is leget. merry Christmas
every body out there pleas be careful. there are a lot of shady characters out there just waiting to take your money. 2 years ago my wife had her identity stolen and what a mess that was to clear up.

I just got a new Canon 70-200 lens for $45.99. Well, actually, it was a thermos that looks just like a Canon lens. You might want to check out this and other Canon and Nikon lens mugs/thermos at canonmugs.com

The inability to find info itself should prove to you that they are NOT legit.
The company is in China....BBB doesn't check them out ! If you DO order from those places, go to Walmart, get a Visa card for $5.00 over the purchase amount ! Those people have been known to charge more than the actual purchase, and there's NOTHING the law can do to help you !!!! Don't ask how I know !!! Stick with the advice here....B&H, Adorama.......
If you ever have questions about any on line store you can always check them out here.
http://www.resellerratings.com/These folks rate on line stores based on actual customer experience. If these people don't know anything about the site in question or their rating isn't above 9 I'd run.
Most of us who use on line stores, at least the pros and
semi pros I've talked with use either B&H or Amazon.
Good luck

You have your answer! DO NOT buy there. We also gave you a list of reputable online sellers. Funny thing, all the reputable places charge approximately the same price for cameras and lenses because the markup is pretty skinny and it is a very competitive market. Invariably, when you see a price markedly lower, it is a scam. 100%.
