Another challenge for you.....Still Life. I have seen some terrific Still Life photography posted and decided I wanted to learn more; and sharing tips would be very helpful so we can all learn from each other.....that may include set up and lighting, etc. I started out with some flowers and then added other items in my shots; I used natural lighting, candle light, and an LED flashlight for my lighting sources. This may be one time I can be happy for the extreme cold so did not make me feel quite so guilty staying indoors. And it also gave me the opportunity to work more with my post processing software. (But still need to work on more bubble shots Clicker!)
Another challenge for you.....Still Life. I have ... (

Irene, I spent time trying to figure out still life photography about a year ago. Then gave up. Is it the plain background or light or what? Posting some I liked. What should I have done..

Can't see how to delete the first one. Don't know why it posted so big and with wrong crop.

Now that hammer gives me what I want.
We will now try an interpretation of 'still life'.
Thanks.

Castironitis it's called. For both outdoor and indoor cooking.
Dutch ovens and spiders in North America (see Laura Ingalls Wilder)
Camp Ovens in Australia. But you see I took two N Am ovens with me. They are the ones with the flat lid in pic 3. & my Aussie friend is more addicted than me.
Unpictured are my 3 Aussies ovens: Billmans 9, Furphy 10, Harding 11

pg 2. Markar.....thank you for the kind comment. I love your second photo and in my humble opinion qualifies as still life. I am not an expert on this subject but I know there are some great UHH photographers that are very good....and am looking to learn some tips from them too; to start I did purchase a display board and draped with black flannel (no...not velvet as our local Wal Mart has a limited amount of fabrics....and this board is not needed I'm sure but I do not have a good area in my house for shooting) and I am finding I have alot to learn about lighting. I used flowers and some memorabilia that I have been wanting to photograph.
Mary...thank you and your images are great! Lol...never thought of tools...i.e. your hammer!
lhammer.....love the globe effect of your still life!
tomlinson....thank you for sharing your lighting source....it did work beautifully...and your second set of photos are very nice. Keep posting........
