I found this article very helpful and interestingly strait forward.

What Specs Really Matter in a DSLR?

Well it is not helpful as it is not reflecting the reality of choosing a camera. Yes there is information on different formats but beside that there is nothing.

'What really really matters' is an opinion piece, nothing more and a boring one at that.

so, what's boring about telling you what really matters is size of sensor, not megapixels?

I thought it was short and to the point. A very easy read, especially for beginners.

Your opinion is YOUR opinion. YOU own it.
by the way, are you drunk?

So for you, this article is information enough to purchase a camera?

It is incomplete, misleading in many ways since it is the opinion of the writer.

And yes, this is my opinion of it. If you do like folks like me to answer to your link other than positive, sorry you feel that way but I will still share what I think as you opened this link for 'debate'.

By the way, what really matters is not the sensor size but the sensels size, the four little things that capture the light in RGBG. These have more influence on the image color quality than the sensor itself.

If you compare two full frame cameras like the Nikon D4 to the Nikon D800, the Nikon D4 has an advantage in speed and color rendition over the D800 but loses when it comes to capturing details, especially if you are dealing with the 800e.

what is sensels? I was not comparing two full frame cameras. I really wasn't looking for debate on the subject, but since you so rudely informed me that it wasn't worth posting, maybe I should just take it down.. or ask the Adim to delete this whole fiasco.

Thank you for that information.

What I think, is that you are probably not all that you think you see yourself as being.

Giving you my opinion means it (your link) is not worth posting???

That is not what I am saying. I am criticizing the link content, not you. That I find it misleading and incomplete is my opinion, not that of other readers I would think.

As to sensels.
A sensor is really an individual pixel composed of four elements (sensels) that capture the light in RGB+G +G being the luminosity. It is kind of similar to CMY+K.

We use sensor when we speak of a camera but in reality the term should be sensor array.

I appologize if I jumped to conclusions... Please, forgive me.

So, "sensels" is another way of saying sensor? Just trying to get this strait.

Camera sensor = Sensor array
A sensor is made of four sensels
A sensor is a pixel
