Editing phone photos...HELP!

A friend requested me to edit a photo taken from their phone (I use Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4.0). After I crop the photos, the pixels are still really evident. I can't seem to get enough pixels to make the photo look good. Any suggestions?

What is the phone's camera's megapixels? If it's a non-smart phone, then probably 3 MP or less and that would be the problem. The image quality is low and pixelation will occur. Especially, after you crop the image you will see no better (most likely worse), because now you have less of the image to work with. Can you post the image?

When you crop any picture in Photoshop you can enter at what pixel count you want the new picture. This is done several ways but the most common is done by loking at the existing pixels and then cloning like ones to surround them, thereby increasing what you. The main problem is if you don't have much at the get go what you are doing is making copies of copies. No program can make something out of nothing and they all have their limits. Good luck.

I finally gave up on the poor quality of the original image. *deleted*

Yeah...I tried all of that. I think the phone was just a cheapie and didn't give a give me a good image to start with. I finally gave up and *deleted* the image. Ya win some, ya lose some. Afterall, I'm not a miracle worker <Laf'n>
