Hi everyone!! I`m new, not only to Ugly Hedgehog but to using the computer too.
I have done some photography, but thats been 6 years ago when I retired. I`m finding out when I use my Nikon D300, it`s like learning all over again how to take creative pictures. I hope this site will teach me some stuff.
I miss flying but I know photography is not nearly as expensive as flying is.

Welcome! New to the computer myself. Grand kids forced me to use the computer. They had to drag me into the future. Good luck with your photos.

Hi AK Dreamer
I mostly fly a rented Cessna 172. My last plane was a Piper Cup (J3) (a tail dragger). It was a kick to fly. Got 5 gph. It flew 65mph at cruise. Top speed was 70mph. It was a great plat-form for aerial photography. I flew the plane and did the photography too. Very steady to fly. Unfortunatly I couldnt compete with the bigger companies, so I sold the plane.

Hello Mr. Darnell. I've learned much on this site but one thing I've also learned about all the friendly people on this site is they will not only help you with your photography but they will also answer any computer tech-y questions you may have. Everyone here is so great. Welcome to Ugly Hedgehog. Personally I think hedgehogs are cute lol

The J3 must have been a "hoot" to fly! I have quite a few hours in PA-18 cubs...125hp...135hp...150hp...floats...skis...and big tires. The cub is probably my favorite aircraft to fly. I've never flown a J3 but flying from the back seat solo would lend a new experience to the ambiance of taildragger flying.

Hi AK Dreamer
I bet when you flew the plane with the big tires, you had to really perfect your landings. Bouncing on landing was probably very easy to do. Just flying the j-3 cub was easy to bounce at first, mainly on pavement. On grass stripes, it was a pieceof cake!
Loved to slide slip it in. Always came in high just so I could slip it in.
