Not quite. The Supreme Court stayed the 10th Circuit's decision legalizing gay marriage in Utah pending review.

Funny, that's the same things that religious people on this forum are wanting, a life without violence, bigotry & hate.... Gee, why do you force those ideals on them, but say gays shouldn't face the same ? Do I detect a double standard here ?....Btw, I'm not religious, but it peeves me to see any one put down for their beliefs.

If art grandpa was talking about anything else then he wouldn't be treated to this wall of hate. He would be respected as someone passionate about the things important in life. But because he's cares about the plight of gay people he has come in for abuse and hate. His peaceful enjoyment of life is constantly under attack by bigots and hate-mongers. If there were more people like Art Grandpa who were willing to stand up for themselves the world would be a better place.

Unfortunately, as this thread has proved as soon as he asks for equal treatment he's knocked down and told to hide away.

Gay people aren't stopping anyone from getting married. Gay people are stopped from getting married.

I agree but, It is up to parents to teach the values that we ourselves have learned. Myself being a religious man have also taught them that the teachings of the Bible comes first as their personal guide in life. Love thy neighbor and such. And the "and such" is what most people have a problem with. The Bible does say that homosexuality is a sin. And this is where the fight begins. I can accept you as you are but I can not accept your life style nor will I teach my children to do so. That might sound hypocrisy to you but that is me. Now, can you accept me as I am as I am willing to accept you as you are? I am not asking you to accept my life style but to accept me.

Get over gay being a problem and the solution is here. I'm staying the way I am and I'm going to do my best to make sure that each generation after me knows that it's OK to be gay and it's OK to express yourself however you want. No one is making you be gay and no one is making you be angry over gay people being vocal - it's all you.

You know pappy, if you have a desire to broaden your horizons, you should speak to your Doctor. Bisexual Sodium Hypochlorite is now available with your doctors prescription. Do not take Bisexual Sodium Hypochlorite if you are using Viagra or Cialis. Do not take Bisexual Sodium Hypochlorite if you suffer from anxiety or are prone to throwing hissy fits. If you lactate tell your Doctor so a sound decision on whether or not Bisexual Sodium Hypochlorite is for you. If you are happy as you are just forget Bisexual Sodium Hypochlorite.

Why is it OK for you to express your views but someone with an opposing view isn't afforded that curtsey ? Can we say double standard ?.... I don't give a rats ass what your sexual persuasion is, but when people besmirch & demonize others for their beliefs publicly, it irks me... As our parents told us, if you don't have something nice to say, shut the FXXk up

Your little expose' conveniently left out this passage…

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools
23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.
27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Gay Marriage:
1. Gays should have the same protections, advantages and disadvantages of marriage as straight couples.
2. I fail to see how any two people getting married can negatively affect the general course of life on this planet. Gays left alone do not breed but they can raise children in their care
and any child with two parents that care for them are better off than a child with only one or no parent.
3. Churches should not be forced to change their teachings or practices to conform to secular laws and mandates as it is contrary to the 1st amendment of the U.S. constitution regarding freedom of religion. Change must come from within the church not from forces outside the church.

Gun Control:
1. Fact:
Everywhere Gun Control has be tightened violent crime has gone up.
Everywhere Gun Controls have been repealed and concealed carry implemented all forms of crime have went down.
2. Any law that restricts law abiding citizens from obtaining arms equal to those arms used by common military and law enforcement personnel is an infringement and counter to the 2nd amendment.
3. The Supreme Court has ruled over and over again, that the type of weapons protected by the 2nd amendment are “ordinary military equipment” “in common use by the military” that “could contribute to the common defense”
4. Most gun control laws penalize law abiding citizens and do little to nothing to deter criminals from obtaining and using guns. Its like trying to stop drunk driving by outlawing cars.
5. Weapons, like “(bazookas, grenades, RPGs, etc…)”, are not “ordinary military equipment” “in common use by the military” that “could contribute to the common defense” they are special use weapons issued only to troops that are engaging an enemy in a combat zone and are under very strict control. Tanks and Jet Fighters, are equipment used by a very few specialized servicemen. Unlike the M16/A4, which are issued to all troops at one time or another.
6. Law abiding citizens do not buy guns to go out and shoot people. Guns are bought to put food on the table called Hunting, to protect their families and property called Security, and for enjoyment called Sport.

Lastly: If you don't like guns don't buy one and if you don't like gay marriage don't attend one. In the mean time, keep your nose out of other peoples business.
Gay Marriage: br 1. Gays should have the same pro... (show quote)

church Benevolence has nothing to do with homosexuals. We are all taught to be given of what we have to give.

http://www.tonycooke.org/free_resources/articles_others/church_benevolence.html

The Bible on homosexuality.

Romans 1:18-32 & Romans 2:1-9

You would want me to believe that Paul was not condemning homosexuals, he had already done that in verses 24-26, but in chapter 2:1 He turned his attention to the so-called Christians and told them, who are you to judge others when you do the same thing. It will be far worst for the Christian then it is to those non-believers since we both must answer to God.

1 Corinthians 6:12-20 Sexual Immorality & 1 Corinthians 7:1-7 on Marriage

Believe as you wish to believe, it is not I that you must answer to, but then again, you believe that you don't have to answer to anyone (GOD) so what difference does that make.

By the way, I am a single white male. I have been divorced since 1980 and have not had sex since then. Based on my religious beliefs, I do not believe in sex out side of marriage. That too is a sin. But that is me, not you (as Paul would say).
