I am trying something new with wedding pictures not sure if it worth doing or not the clients seemed to like it but I am not sure if I should continue this effect or not or if I should attempt to refine the effects any advice will be appreciated.
I'm no professional (as is MOST evident already!)... but I don't really care for the effect for a formal affair.
I love it when people play around with the lighting etc., but this effect (whatever it is called) makes them look a little cartoon-ish(?)evident mostly in the groom's face in the second one.
I love the low lighting in the first one... almost a "spotlight effect" which is a GREAT idea, especially on the faces... but the back ground on these I wish was blurred out nearly completely... so the mood of the moment could be captured better as the focus of the photos.
Just my UNinformed and UNtrained opinion, and no offense intended.
If the couple likes them, that's ALL that matters!
Any photo of such a sacred and happy moment is beautiful to me, but you asked for feedback.
I am not a professional either but would have to agree that it is a kind of "cartoonish" effect. I also like the first one although the pictures look as though they have alot of "noise" in them, unless that was intended. The first shot really captures the moment and would look amazing with more color and a little sharper. They are great shots though, you captured the moment.
Thanks I like your opinions and are helpful what I am going for is not to replace the first picture's but to add options for large prints Wedding photograpy is the most compeditive photograpy busseness that I know, it changes trents at a moment notice last year it was a black and white with a spot of color ( the bride in b/w flowers in color ) now that seems to be old and worn out so we always have to look for something new mainly looking for ideals and the next new thing.

Ahhhh! Yep! Crazy competitive genre... I totally understand now.
In that case, I'd say keep playing with it!
Ya never know... you might wind up starting the next trend! :)
Ok...I'm a professional...ok..no I'm not haha I just didn't want to sound like everyone else...but ..I too would crop the top picture some what...too busy in the back...and I laughed out loud when I saw that face on the bottom looking up at them. I don't know, maybe it's what you were going for but I would have focused closer in on the HAPPY couple. And I have to agree with tilde and emmy, the effect almost makes the groom look like he's dirty. The second pic, I would have cropped out the blanket or what ever that is on the floor. But as said before..new techniques are great to experience with. Keep it up and I'm sure you will find something you AND your customers will love. And if they DO love these shots, then you have accomplished your mission! Thanks for posting.
Not sure I like this for a wedding...
Not sure if I like this technique for these particular photos but I bet it has a place in a picture somewhere.
