I used to be able to post photos; now I can't. I have no idea what's going on. I use an iMac and iPhoto. UHH suggested using a different browser, but I have both Safari and Foxfire and neither works for me.
Can someone please give me a step-by-step walk-through for posting? Apparently I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance, John

I use fire fox on a windows pc
when you reply or write a new topic do you get the UHH page with the forum topic list and the box to type in.
below this are 3 boxes for file/picture and store original on the right are lots of smile's
hit browse on the top box to find your picture using your usual file opener (explorer)
highlight it
hit open and you will return to the UHH page wait for the 'No file selected' line to change to your picture's title or file name source etc
choose whether to 'store original' or not. this allows us to download a copy of your picture rather than rip you off by copy and paste.
hit send - depending on how big your file is depends on how long it takes to travel down the phone line.........hits the satellite if your luck's in or the under sea cable ....then gets Fed Ex'd to that dark UHH cave hidden from the eyes of mankind.
once you are redirected to where your reply or new topic has opened DO NOT HIT EDIT for a while as your photo's still haven't got there yet......think snail mail.....it is magic but that's much harder to think about
in fact go look at something else or drink tea.....then come back and do any editing that you feel desperate about.
That's how I do it
Hope that you have missed something.....the alternative is probably really technical....costly... or requiring new kit (yipee)
I am new to this site but I do use a mac, but not Iphoto. I just click the choose photo, then select where its located. seems to work so far.
maybe you have to export the image out of Iphoto (to the desktop?) and upload from there
Try using Google Chrome for your browser.
Also try re-sizing photos before posting to no more than 600 pixels wide and no more than 800 pixels tall so that UHH doesn't have to create a thumbnail.
BTW, there are changes in this site coming some time this year.

What? Deny us the pleasure of downloading the full size image and pixel peeping?

Did you read the rules for this forum? Very first message in "Main Photography Discussion" has under the heading "How to post a picture":
For iPad, iPod, iPhone users: you need to install "iCab Mobile (Web Browser)" app in order to upload pictures. The default Safari browser doesn't allow file upload.
Since there seems to be an "i" involved I hope that helps.

Don't know if this will apply to you, but when I first signed on here I could not post any photos. It would take over 15 mins. for a single photo and then the page would be changed. When I was on a road trip I tried it at my hotel and 3 pics got posted in between 7 and 11 mins. every time I tried (2). I'm pretty sure it has to do with internet speed, I live in a Condo in the Summer and they have a deal with Comcast which should be lightning fast, but is much slower than my summer DSL line. They tell me it's because of the old wiring in the building.

Connection speed can have a LOT to do with it. Where I am, I have to rely on a wireless connection and some days it goes very fast and some days it is impossible to post pics.
Jaymatt,
Had the same problem. Tried Foxfire & Google, did not work. Reduced file size and now "OK". Hope this helps you.
