I've been looking on B&H and noticed a huge difference in price. Some I suppose are made of brass which is much harder than anodized aluminum. For example compare Heliopans to Tiffens-- and some even cheaper.

Anything else I'm missing? Anyone had bad experiences with a specific brand?

Thanks!

I purchased the Bower brand & they were lousy. Threads were rough and had sharp edges. Did not want to use on my expensive lenses! Believe it or not I bought the cheapest brand they sell, Sensi, and the are like a Caddy compared to a Ford. Smooth threading and perfect fit on all four that I bought. Hope this helps, just my personal experience.

Thanks. I saw the Senseis-- I ended up paying a little more for a B+W. I have an ND that I am using it with made by the same company so I figured it was the best way to go. I've had one jam back in the "film days" which is why I asked.....

I think one of the best photographic related purchase I've made in 45+ years is:

http://www.amazon.com/Camera-Filter-46mm-62mm-Filters-Package/dp/B0056483JK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1389122664&sr=8-5&keywords=camera+filter+wrench

and...

I never leave home without 'em. Cheers!

Yeah, I should probably get a pair of these. The last filter that I couldn't get off was a polarizer, so I could not get sufficient grip....
