I was out looking for things to shoot in black and white and saw this guy sitting out on a power line. I have not seen one like him before, unless he is young and not gotten his full color yet. I tried to look it up but did not come up with anything. I could not tell you what his tail looked like because when he took off I was trying to get some shots but they turned out all blurry.

Osprey. It's also an adult. His eyes are yellow. An immature one has red eyes.

Did you take this shot near Goodyear AZ. and if you did there must be some lakes or rivers near by, Osprey hunt a lot of fish. Good shot.

Agree it is an osprey. If you saw this in Arizona you had a treat. Normally only seen in SW Arizona in the winter. So if you are from SW Az look some more. If not you just saw a rarity.

I am in SW AZ. And it was fun to see him. Like I said I had never seen one before. We have red tailed hawks all over the place so this guy stood out.

I have been wavering between what camera to buy -- my current is a Fuji and I know the menus so I was going to stick with it. But between your information here and that of "Linda From Maine" I think I'm sold on the Canon -- what great shots!!

Are U referring to the Canon SX50? I don't know what camera Agility used to get his shot

Yes -- I believe you're the member who posted the photos from LI. Sorry for the mix-up. How do you like it for family photos?

Great for 90% of my photography needs. The zoom range is incredible, covering wide angle for landscape shots to super telephoto for wildlife and candid people shots. Focusing might be a bit sluggish for active children or sports. I don't have any young children and don't care for sports, so that isn't a drawback for me
