RB, I'm trying a new subconscious technique to convert Nikon guys! But you're way to smart to fall for it.
Hey, sorry, I thought you were the OP. I'll have to quote myself and try to redirect it. But have a happy new year instead! ;-)

LOL SS! Try as you might, you'll have to give me a Canon to convert me. Free is great! But if I'm buyin' it's still going to be Nikon for this guy!

Happy New Year to you as well

I just did that. I went with a Canon 60d and I love it! It really is an upgrade.

I use a T3i and I love it, but I'm finding myself limited by too much noise over 800/1600 ISO. In about a month I'm going FF with a 6D. I was looking at other crop sensor cameras, but I want to upgrade with something a bit different. I'll still use my T3i since I have some EF-S lenses, and not having to switch lenses as much will be nice for a change.

You've got my attention with the 7D Mk II. I hadn't heard about it.

The new Canon 7D II has been all the rage on Canon Rumors website. Take a look. " wwwcanonrumors.com"

If so, how many EF's lenses are you invested in? Keep in mind that they can BE sold. Yes you would take at least some loss, but possibly could be very minimal. Just saying.
Also, Why would you keep the old one as a back-up, unless you do paid events, where its absolutely necessary. I've never actually needed a back-up, knock on wood. They just get old and worthless. For at least a while it's possible to get rid of them for at least a small amount. again, just saying. :-)

SS, when you go on a three week trip and your main camera body craps out, and you don't have a backup, you are in deep doodoo, my friend. I had a Canon T70 crap out in a wonderful snowstorm in Wyoming, and I had no backup. Game over. 2-3 years later, I had a T90 shutter die 2 days into a trip, but that time I had another T90 as backup -- learned my lesson.

Cameras will die, and if you're around home it's no big deal. On a road trip, you either use your trusty backup or go home....or buy another body, which is not exactly easy in the boonies.

Those rumors seem to be all over the map of possibilities. An upgraded 7D would make a nice choice to replace my 60D, becoming the prime in the APS set, with my current 7D becoming backup. I'm a bit worried about the choice of memory cards, though, because my stock of CF high-speed cards was a stiff investment. If Canon does make a Mk II, I'd like to see dual memory cards (CF and SD).
