This topic is about the Patient Night Heron (he waited and waited but never got a hit in the 3 hours I was there... from what I observed). Ive posted other bird topics in the past few weeks (Surfer Duck, Flying duck, and Heron at the falls).
All of my bird topics where taken in and around the stream adjacent to the Légaré mill in St. Eustache, Quebec which was built in 1762. My first 2 photographs show the mill from upstream and also from downstream. Most of my photos were taken downstream in the month of June.
This location is a treasure for shooting water birds and others.
Photos taken with the Lumix FZ200. Medium crops were at 500mm and close crops were at 1200mm.
Attached are: The Mill, Patient Night Heron and friends.
Let me know if you like these.
Thank you

Pretty bird with that blue on top of it's head and on it's beak.
Great shots of the bird. I love water drops frozen in motion.

Thanks for looking photophile. I have to admit the blue in the first photo was a bit overdone in PP.
Thanks for looking clydebaby. It was a sunny day and higher shutter speeds froze everything.
Thanks for sharing your feathered Quebecois with us.
Thanks for your comments ebrunner

I was just there as a tourist for the birds. I'm in Laval as you might have guessed.

I was born and raised in Laval West (Fabreville) but went to school in Oka and Deux Montagnes. It's cool to see someone from my region here.

Same here. Looking forward to your future posts. BTW one of your non action shots that I really liked was the barn photographed at night... great setup.
